Mini-Quilt Madness!

OMG!! I have figured out how to satisfy my quilting obsession without completely putting my son, husband, and my job on the back burner--- MINI QUILTS!!

After having first made a mini quilt for a swap, I am now officially obsessed! I love that I can finish and entire mini quilt in just a few hours so I can start one and by working on it for 30 minutes each day it is done from start to finish in just a few days. This is the perfect solution for me.

Here is my latest mini quilt! I made this one for my husband to hang in his office at work. He looooves the beach and has different beach scene pictures/posters in his office so I thought I would make him one out of fabric! He loves it and has already had compliments from people entering his office. I couldn't be happier.

I call it "Playa CaribeƱa" (means Caribbean Beach) in Spanish. :o)

Fall-inspired Mini-Quilt- Squirrel Fun

phew! I'm back! It's a new year and I'm sooooo busy! Taking care of our 5-month old baby during the day, teaching law classes at night and trying to keep up with my sewing & quilting projects! I had signed up for a Fall-inspired mini quilt swap through the Quilting Gallery and I had a blast making this quilt for my swap partner.

I wanted to design and make a mini-quilt that was fun and told a story. I decided to make this "Squirrel Fun" quilt and I love the way it came out! I used some embroidery floss and hand stitched the loop in the air that shows the flip the squirrel did before diving into a pile a fall leaves. Once I finished the quilt I like it so much I wanted to keep it for myself. lol. But, no worries... I didn't and it is on the way to Missouri as I type this. Hope she loves it!
